1.29.2021 Crackling of a Fire…

The crackling of a fire is echoing in the background with music from the 30’s and 40’s playing through an old tube radio. All curtains and blinds are drawn open. The crash and bang that is heard is shadowed by the ominous clouds that are rolling in like a heard of buffalo overhead. My view across the street even though mid afternoon on this Friday the 29th of January has remnants of yesteryear still casting like me some vintage relics of those memories before us. The whole view is covered in a break of dawn hue of blue tones. I could understand the great depression more so now than I ever could as a child by just a picture of this in black and white. I have always been a romantic maybe why this depression could be just the loss of love. Regardless, In times of past we were told to walk it off. So with this hole in my chest and an absolute crushing blow to the head I am left making a soup from scratch which as I prepared my morning breakfast to help occupy the spaces that are apparently very apparently seen. I would be lying if I said I could see them. I see the look on my face. I see it in my writing. I see it in my art. Overall, The wound is there. I know it will heal. Just as we always do. Wether we are a nation in mourning or in recovery. We do prevail. Just as the combinations of spices and vegetables that are colliding within the pot upon the stove will eventually blend to create a delicious concoction for lunch. Trying to figure out where to begin is always hard. So today started with a blend during breakfast and will finish with a Moroccan Green Tea w/ Mint. So as I bid you a good Friday and change up the format of being on time and returning to just posting as life hits us. Keep that fire burning and stay creative. Cheers from me to you.
